The CICOP Foundation “International Centre for Heritage Conservation” has awarded Pilar Roig Picazo the International Prize for her contribution to the research, conservation and restoration of the artistic heritage of the Valencian Community.
The International Centre for Heritage Conservation Organisation (CICOP), with its headquarters in the city of La Laguna in the Canary Islands, in collaboration with the institutions that make up the Board of Trustees of the CICOP Foundation, instituted these International Awards with a clear vocation of recognition and approximation to the current reality of Cultural Heritage on its most universal scale, which are awarded to organisations, institutions or individuals whose intellectual work and creative technical or humanist contribution, contribute in an exemplary and outstanding way over a significant period of existence to the dissemination, communication, maintenance, conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage.
The award will be presented in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, in a solemn ceremony with the institutional presence of the Board of Trustees of the CICOP Foundation, coinciding with the 23rd anniversary of the inscription of La Laguna on the World Heritage List and the 30th anniversary of the creation of the CICOP organisation in Spain.
The ceremony will take place in the Teatro Leal in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna on 14 December at 19h.
