Researchers from the IRP’s laboratory of non-destructive testing techniques have begun collaboration with the Muy Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Farmacéuticos de Valencia. The objective of the collaboration is the appearance of damp and deterioration of the facilities of the MICOF headquarters, the technicians suspect that the origin of the humidity and the negative effects on the building come from a historical ditch that is located below it.
The previous actions have been started by carrying out an analysis of the humidity and temperature to locate exactly the origin of the problem with the latest technology equipment such as a georadar, video-endoscope, thermal cameras among others. With the data, it will be possible to issue a report that will make it possible to identify the causes and how the affected facilities in the historic building should be properly restored.
