The IRP will intervene in the work of the painter Jose Cusachs “Muerte del teniente Rochera en Vic”

The team of researchers from the IRP’s easel and altarpiece painting restoration workshop, led by Professors Maria Castell Agusti, Antoni Colomina Subiela and Vicente Guerola Blay have started a collaboration to carry out the various tasks of restoration of the pictorial heritage of the Ministry of Defense in Valencia. Among them is the restoration of the work of the Catalan painter Jose Cusachs (1851-1908) “Muerte del teniente Rochera en Vic” currently exhibited in the former convent of Preachers of Valencia, current headquarters of Capitania General.

This intervention will mean the beginning of a collaboration through multiple activities with the Ministry of Defense and the Military Museum of Valencia. In this way, the emergency interventions of four large canvases by J. Martorell from 1957 with historic views of Valencia located in the hall of the “Rey Juan Carlos I Military” Sports Center have begun.
